<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>MAKAYLA ADAMS</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Lake-Lehman</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Junior, forward</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">A premier natural scorer, Adams led the WVC Division 1 with 42 points, hitting double figures in both goals (16) and assists (10) to finish among the league&#8217;s top 10 in both categories. Her heady and fluid play inside the circle helped the Black Knights capture the District 2 Class A crown and win two state playoff games while advancing to the PIAA semifinals.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>HANNAH MAXWELL</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Wyoming Seminary</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Freshman, forward</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">The phenomenal freshman burst on the WVC scene and immediately impressed coaches and fans both locally and nationally with her skilled stick handling and uncanny scoring ability. Maxwell led the Blue Knights with 17 goals to finish second in the league and added five assists to total 39 points while sparking a young Sem squad to a District 2 Class 2A semifinal berth.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>ARDEN MORGANS</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Crestwood</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Sophomore, forward</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">On a team that struggled with scoring, Morgans found the answer. Her 12 goals, many of them which tied games or put Crestwood ahead, topped the young, defensive-minded Comets and provided just enough punch to lead them into the District 2 Class 2A championship game on the way to a PIAA Class 2A semifinal appearance for a fifth straight season.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>LEAH MULLERY</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Holy Redeemer</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Junior, midfielder</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">The WVC&#8217;s overall scoring leader spearheaded the best season in Redeemer&#8217;s short field hockey history. She was the overall WVC leader with 44 points and 19 goals, while sparking the Royals to a 12-0 league record as WVC Division 2 champs and helped Redeemer win its first state playoff game, then advance to the PIAA semifinals.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>AUBREY MYTYCH</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Wyoming Seminary</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Junior, midfielder</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">One of the premier playmakers in the WVC for the past two seasons, Mytych made sure everyone around her had plenty of scoring chances. She placed second in the WVC with 14 assists, and when she didn&#8217;t find anyone opened, took the opportunity to score nine goals of her own. All that helped Sem to a 12-2 second place finish in the WVC Division 1.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>JORDAN OLENGINSKI</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Crestwood</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Senior, forward</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">The St. Joe&#8217;s-bound leader was the glue that held together a Comets team decimated by graduation after last season, and showed them the way back to a fifth consecutive District 2 title game and fifth straight state semifinal appearance. Olenginski scored 11 goals to help spark a sluggish offense throughout the year. Her winning goal lifted Crestwood over defending state champ Twin Valley in the PIAA playoffs.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>MELINDA RATCHFORD</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Dallas</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Junior, goalie</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">One of the fiercest competitors in the WVC, Ratchford elevated the Mountaineers with her inspiring play around the cage and probably stole a playoff spot for a light-scoring Dallas team. She stopped 50 of 55 shots against her during the league season to lead the WVC with a .909 save percentage, and sparked the Mountaineers to a District 2 Class 2A semifinal appearance.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>SARAH SABALUSKI</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Lake-Lehman</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Senior, midfielder</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">One of the most underrated players in the conference, Sabaluski set up an almost unstoppable scoring attack for the District 2 champion and state semifinalist Black Knights. She registered a team-high 13 assists while continually moving the ball at will through even the strongest defenses. Her spirited play in the opposite zone also thwarted opposing scoring chances.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>FOTO TSIOLES</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Wyoming Valley West</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Junior, forward</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">A major cog in Valley West&#8217;s playoff run, Tsioles led the Spartans with 12 goals and added five assists to help the team back to prominence. Her gritty play and willingness to battle for the ball in the circle paved a path for Valley West&#8217;s District 2 Class 2A title and a return to the PIAA playoffs as the top seed from District 2.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>NATALIE ZASADA</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Wyoming Valley West</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Junior, defense/forward</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">Zasada&#8217;s midseason switch from defense to offense made everything click for Valley West. She recorded a hat trick in her first game as a starting forward and provided a key scoring weapon for the Spartans from there. Zasada finished the season with 11 goals and four assists while helping Valley West claim the school&#8217;s first District 2 title at the Class 2A level.</p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>COACH OF THE YEAR</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>MAURA MCCORMICK</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Holy Redeemer</strong></p><p style="text-align: left;">In her head coaching debut, McCormick led the Royals into new territory. The former Wyoming Area assistant who played high school field hockey for highly successful programs at Wyoming Valley West and Wyoming Seminary took her winning ways to Redeemer. She guided the Royals to a 12-0 regular season and the WVC Division 2 title; led them to their first District 2 Class A championship appearance; took them to the school&#8217;s first state playoff game and produced a victory in it. She steered Redeemer straight to the school&#8217;s first PIAA Class A state semifinal appearance. Through it all, McCormick made sure a young team returning just three senior starters continually kept improving, and growing stronger in the face of each mounting challenge.</p><style>
