Man accused of exchanging inappropriate photos with minors heading to county court

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; &#8220;Porky&#8221; is cooked.</p><p>Diondre &#8220;Porky&#8221; Bess, the Georgia man who was one of two men to open fire on another man inside the Sherman Hills Apartment Complex two years ago, was sentenced Wednesday to up to a decade behind bars.</p><p>Bess, 29, of Athens, <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/632805/porky-pleads-guilty-to-attempted-homicide-in-2015-sherman-hills-shooting" target="_blank">pleaded guilty last month</a> to attempted homicide after prosecutors said he and a second man, Keith Brian &#8220;Keefy Blood&#8221; Hayes, shot Brandon Eubanks multiple times in a hallway of the city high rise in March 2015.</p><p>Bess received a previously agreed-upon five- to 10-year state prison sentence at a hearing in Luzerne County Court &#8212; a penalty identical to that of Hayes, who was sentenced in February 2016.</p><p>According to police, Hayes, 25, emerged from an apartment inside the high-rise apartment complex and confronted Eubanks, then 24. During the tussle, Hayes and Bess each brandished handguns and fired at Eubanks multiple times, striking him in the neck and other parts of his body. Eubanks survived the injuries.</p><p>Both men fled the area following the shooting, but were captured and extradited to Luzerne County by the U.S. Marshals Service.</p><p>Hayes was caught in New York a month after the shooting while Bess was apprehended and taken into custody without incident seven months later at a relative&#8217;s home in his native Athens, Georgia.</p><p>Bess will be immediately transferred to state prison.</p><style>
