<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; While the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were busy mounting a 5-4 comeback win against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday, their first-round playoff opponent was being determined in Hershey.</p><p>A 3-0 win by the Bears over Providence assured the Penguins of a first round matchup against the Bruins &#8212; a rematch of last year&#8217;s opening round which the Penguins won, 3-0.</p><p>The Penguins were 4-2-0-0 in the regular season against Providence and 2-1 on the road against the Bruins, which is where they&#8217;ll begin the first two games of the series next weekend.</p><p>&#8220;Probably one of the best teams we&#8217;ve played all year,&#8221; said head coach Clark Donatelli. &#8220;It&#8217;s going to be a dogfight. We&#8217;ve won in Providence, but it&#8217;s a really hard barn to win in.&#8221;</p><p>While there may not have been much on the line for the Penguins (51-20-3-2) in Saturday&#8217;s final game of the regular season, plenty of players were auditioning for ice time in the playoffs during the win.</p><p>Adam Krause was among them, and his two-goal effort likely earned him a regular role in the first round. Krause added an assist for a three-point night, and his shorthanded breakaway goal in the final minutes proved to be the game-winner.</p><p>Krause also tied it earlier in the third period when he blasted a Bridgeport player in the neutral zone, freeing up the puck. He raced in on a breakaway and beat Bridgeport goaltender Eamon McAdam to make it 4-4.</p><p>Krause, who recorded his first two-goal game, said he treated it like an audition.</p><p>&#8220;My time here has kind of been one big audition, but you have to earn the ice time. It&#8217;s a really deep organization,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Krause added that his game-tying goal showed all of the elements that he can bring while skating a regular shift.</p><p>&#8220;That kind of sums up how I want to play every shift. I was able to get some ice (tonight) and get into the groove of the game. It felt really good.&#8221;</p><p>All three goals in the first period were scored with the man advantage. Bridgeport struck twice, testing rookie netminder Sean Maguire in the second half of the period. Ryan Pulock blasted a one-timer to make it 1-0, and then Teddy Blueger answered with a snipe on the Penguins first power play to tie it up.</p><p>With less than a minute left in the opening frame, the Sound Tigers stuck again on the man advantage to go up 2-1.</p><p>After falling behind 3-1, the Penguins went on their third power play of the night and Jean-Sebastien Dea sniped a shot from the right faceoff circle to make it 3-2.</p><p>Earlier in the period Sundqvist exited the ice briefly, returned to take a shift then left again and was done for the night. Donatelli said Sundqvist was taken out for precautionary reasons and should be fine.</p><p>In the third, Jarrett Burton scored during a scramble in front to answer an earlier Bridgeport goal, and then Krause struck twice for the eventual win.</p><p>After dropping their previous two games, the Penguins showed the urgency and push-back that they had been lacking.</p><p>&#8220;We didn&#8217;t really have anything to play for the last few games. It was cool to feel that emotion again,&#8221; Krause said. &#8220;We wanted to prove that we can win these games.&#8221;</p><p><strong>NOTES</strong></p><p>&#8226; The Penguins sat D Tim Erixon, D David Warsofsky, LW Kevin Porter, RW Tom Kostopoulos, F Zach Aston-Reese and D Derrick Pouliot. Aston-Reese is dealing with an upper body injury and Donatelli said he&#8217;ll know more this week.
