Millennium 4-H Club participates in Paper Clover Days

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Arlo Guthrie, the Coney Island native who is known for his prolific songwriting, social commentary, storytelling, acting and activism, will perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square.</p><p>During his career, spanning more than 50 years, Guthrie has become an icon in folk music, and he&#8217;s currently taking his Re:Generation Tour across the Northeast and Midwest.</p><p>Guthrie&#8217;s tour is named for the family band his father, popular singer-songwriter Woody Guthrie, hoped to form when he had enough children. Elder Guthrie wanted to travel the country with his musical family under the name &#8220;Generations.&#8221; The Re:Generation tour is meant to capture the spirit of an American family making music together.</p><p>As such, younger Guthrie will be joined on the tour by his children, Abe and Sarah Lee.</p><p>Because of his father, Guthrie was surrounded by artists like Pete Seeger, Lee Hays, Ronnie Gilbert and more, giving him the opportunity to draw influence from them and become an artist in his own right.</p><p>Guthrie performed at Woodstock in 1969, showcasing his then chart-topping &#8220;Coming Into Los Angeles.&#8221; He was included on the multi-platinum Woodstock soundtrack and movie. He is also known for his television and film appearances.</p><p>Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. June 9 for the general public, and 10 a.m. June 7 for Kirby members. Folk icon Arlo Guthrie to perform at F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre
