But the waters would get very choppy before the end.Ji-Man Choi slammed two home runs to help forge a six-run lead, but it was Cito Culver&#8217;s clutch RBI single in the seventh that proved to be the difference in the RailRiders&#8217; 7-6 win at Syracuse on Thursday.Choi launched hit a two-run homer in the first inning and added a solo shot in the fifth as the RailRiders ran out to a 6-0 lead over the Chiefs. Syracuse responded with three runs apiece in the sixth and seventh, but Culver&#8217;s two-out knock in between provided just enough cushion.It was the RailRiders&#8217; 12th win in their last 16 games, boosting their record to 49-30 &#8212; including a 9-5 mark against the Chiefs to win the season series with three meetings remaining.Choi posted his first multi-homer game since Aug. 4 of last season when he hit a pair with the Los Angeles Angels against the Oakland Athletics. It was his first time accomplishing the feat in 440 career minor-league games.Scranton/Wilkes-Barre nine batters to the plate in a three-run fourth inning to chase Syracuse starter Greg Ross. Abiatal Avelino (2 for 4) provided the big blow in the frame with with a two-run single up the middle.Syracuse rallied thanks to two home runs from Neftali Soto &#8212; a two-run shot in the sixth off of starter Brady Lail, and a three-run job in the seventh against reliever Joe Mantiply that just cleared the fence in right-center.Lail picked up the win and Ben Heller retired the final six batters he faced for a two-inning save. Culver and Billy Fleming had two hits apiece in a game that was delayed 27 minutes at the start by weather.Up next for the RailRiders is a four-game set in Pawtucket, beginning at 7:35 p.m. Friday.
