<p>KINGSTON TWP. &#8212; Trucksville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company members Shawn Spencer, Arnold Brodhead and Brittany Harris were sworn in as Pennsylvania Special Fire Police on Wednesday.</p><p>&#8220;It is always a pleasure to see young people get involved,&#8221; Township Supervisor Chairman James Reino said. &#8220;We thank you for your time and effort.&#8221;</p><p>Special Fire Police have the authority to close roads and direct traffic during emergency situations, said Trucksville Chief Stephen Mathers.</p><p>In other news, a public hearing is scheduled for Aug. 9 to update sections of the Kingston Township Code of Ordinances. A meeting time was not announced.</p><p>&#8220;It will be advertised (in advance of the meeting),&#8221; Reino said.</p><p>Ordinances related to fire prevention and protection will be revised. Other sections of the code will be updated.</p><p>Reino said the township had not updated its code &#8220;for a long time,&#8221; and since its adoption, laws were passed that &#8220;negate&#8221; certain ordinances.</p><p>&#8220;For instance, several years ago we approved the UCC (Uniform Construction Code ) that took the place of all the stuff that used to be in there so there&#8217;s now a conflict, and we have to take that out,&#8221; Reino said.</p><p>Also, supervisors agreed to use Kalinosky Landscaping Inc., of Wyoming, for landscaping services for the Kingston Township administrative building grounds at a cost not to exceed $7,900.</p><p>The proposed landscaping involves replacing some of the large bushes that surround the building with smaller ones, which will reduce potential security threats.</p><p>The next supervisors meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 in the township building.</p><style>
