International League: SWB RailRiders’ Luis Cessa strong in win over Buffalo Bisons

<p>The Back Mountain bats came alive and finished with 12 total hits in a 15-5 win over Greater Wyoming Area in the District 31 Junior Baseball championship game on Thursday.</p><p>Chris Killian led the way with three hits, while A.J. Bednar and Ty Federici each had two hits, including a triple. Connor Morgan picked up the win on the mound.</p><p>Greater Wyoming Area&#8217;s Adam Wisnewski finished with two hits, including a triple and Jason Wiedl had two hits.</p><p>Back Mountain will face the District 32 winner in the Section 5 Tournament on Saturday.</p><p><strong>SOFTBALL </strong></p><p><strong>Section 5</strong></p><p><strong>9-10 All-Stars </strong></p><p><strong>Back Mountain 5,</strong></p><p><strong>Old Forge 4</strong></p><p>Nina Barrouk struck out 13 and Abby Cruz hit a home run in Back Mountain&#8217;s win.</p><p>Allison Vitanovec, Barrouck, Kristen Finarelli and Carolyn Comitz had two hits a piece.</p><p>Old Forge&#8217;s Karen Sickle finished with 11 strikeouts and Talia Piragus hit two home runs.</p><p>The two teams will square off again for the Section 5 championship on Friday at 6 p.m. at Back Mountain.</p><style>
