<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A person dressed in full clown gear and makeup offered a girl money Thursday morning, frightening the child, police say.</p><p>The bizarre incident occurred about 10:10 a.m. as the 9-year-old was riding her scooter in the area of the trestle on Horton Street. The victim stated the clown was behind her, and showed her a $20 or $50 bill and motioned for her to come for it, authorities reported.</p><p>The girl was scared and ran toward her grandmother&#8217;s house. As she was running and screaming, she said the clown ran back toward the railroad trestle.</p><p>She described the clown as thin, 6 feet tall, with red hair parted in the center.</p><p>The clown costume included yellow pants and a red-and-blue shirt with polka dots. The clown&#8217;s face and arms were painted white.</p><style>
