Summer social helps parishioners meet new people after churches merge

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The stretch of sunshine and cool temperatures will continue for a few more days before the chance of rain emerges again later this week, according to the National Weather Service.</p><p>Monday&#8217;s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, calm winds and a high of about 75. Expect partly cloudy skies overnight and a low near 53.</p><p>For Tuesday, partly sunny skies and a high near 72. Overnight, the low will be about 56. There will be a 20 percent chance of rain.</p><p>Wednesday will be mostly sunny during the day, with a high of 75. The low will be 58.</p><p>A chance of showers and thunderstorms will emerge after 2 p.m. Thursday. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies and a high of 77. The chance for rain or storms is about 40 percent.</p><p>Friday will be sunny and cooler.
