<p>BERWICK &#8212; Even though Berwick started the season with three wins against three quality opponents, the team still wanted to accomplish something else in addition to a win on Friday night vs. Crestwood.</p><p>&#8220;The first two weeks we struggled with keeping our foot on the gas and said, &#8216;That&#8217;s what we&#8217;re gonna do this weekend,&#8217; &#8221; Berwick starting quarterback Alex Force said.</p><p>Boy, did the Dawgs ever do that.</p><p>They clobbered the Comets, racing out to a 49-point lead at halftime en route to a 56-0 smashing at Crispin Field.</p><p>The first play of the game set the tone and was an example of what Crestwood would be getting.</p><p>&#8220;We came out as a team and just said, &#8216;Enough is enough,&#8217; and came together early,&#8221; Force said.</p><p>The Dawgs&#8217; Evan Klinger rumbled 55 yards on the first play from scrimmage just 13 seconds into the contest giving his team a 7-0 lead. Berwick&#8217;s only drive of the first half that didn&#8217;t end in a touchdown followed on its second possession, but Crestwood (2-2) couldn&#8217;t capitalize on its next stanza.</p><p>Despite picking up their only first down of the first 24 minutes on their next drive, the Comets were forced to punt, and Berwick took total control.</p><p>&#8220;That boosted our confidence completely,&#8221; Force said about the great start in the first quarter. &#8220;Anytime you can burst one out like that right off the bat, you know it&#8217;s gonna be a good game.&#8221;</p><p>The Dawgs (4-0) scored on their next five drives of the first half with an interception returned for a score by Teagan Wilk to cruise to a 49-0 lead at halftime.</p><p>On offense, Force was on target all night. At one point, the junior completed eight consecutive attempts as he ended the first half with 10 completions on 12 attempts to eight different receivers.</p><p>&#8220;We thought one thing we were lacking was getting the tight end involved, getting the fullback involved in the play action game,&#8221; Dawgs coach Frank Sheptock said. &#8220;Alex is really coming with the ball-handling part and did a nice job today on the bootlegs and the fakes.
