Court suggests it may side with NJ in sports gambling case

<p>The Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township has announced that &#8220;icy conditions&#8221; on the venue floor will lead to &#8220;family fun for all&#8221; this week.</p><p>&#8220;Within a 48-hour timeframe,&#8221; a release from the Arena said, &#8220;the ice surface at Mohegan Sun Arena will be utilized for a charity ice-skating event, professional hockey game and motorcycle and quad racing.&#8221;</p><p>The venue&#8217;s 14th annual Open Skate will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots program.</p><p>Anyone donating $5 or bringing a new, unwrapped toy will be permitted to skate, and all children in attendance will receive a voucher for a free ticket to see World Championship Ice Racing. All guests will receive complementary snacks from sponsor Utz Snacks and have the opportunity to win prizes including tickets to upcoming arena events.</p><p>Guests must have their own skates, and skates are required to go on the ice. Rentals will be available for $3 Wednesday at the Toyota SportsPlex on Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will take on the Charlotte Checkers in an American League Atlantic Division matchup at 7:05 p.m. Friday. The game features $14 tickets, $2 draft beers until 7:30 p.m. and postgame autographs. For tickets, call the Penguins at 570-208-7367 or visit the arena box office.</p><p>World Championship Ice Racing will present The Next Generation Fire On Ice Tour at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. According to the venue&#8217;s press release, &#8220;The event features the biggest names in professional motorcycle ice racing, and the craziest riders on Earth racing wild Unlimited Outlaw Quads and more.&#8221;</p><p>The event will also feature appearances from daredevil Ryan S., a four-time Guinness World Record holder for the fastest wheelie on ice, and Ken Remer, a stuntman who will be attempting to jump his quad from ramp to ramp through a ring of fire.</p><p>Tickets range from $15 to $29 for adults and start at $9 for kids. They are available at the arena box office and at ticketmaster.com.</p><style>
