Kingston police seek ‘person of interest’ in fraudulent ATM activity

<p>WILKES-BARRE TWP. &#8212; A woman fleeing security officers after allegedly stealing items from Walmart Supercenter was spotted running in the middle of Highland Park Boulevard on Tuesday.</p><p>Township police captured Seara Peterson, 26, of North Empire Court, after an officer chased her through heavy traffic at about 7 p.m.</p><p>Police allege Peterson was with two girls, ages 11 and 9, concealing items in a backpack. As she approached the front of the store, Peterson allegedly met up with a man and ran from security officers, according to the criminal complaint.</p><p>Police said a backpack that was dropped during the chase contained $67.66 in unpaid merchandise.</p><p>Peterson was arraigned Wednesday in Luzerne County Central Court on a felony count of retail theft, and misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and resisting arrest. She was released on $15,000 unsecured bail. </p><style>
