<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Area travelers will have a new bus connection to the state&#8217;s third-largest city starting next month.</p><p>The Martz Group will add Allentown service starting June 18, the company announced Thursday, filling a gap in their network of routes linking Northeastern Pennsylvania with Philadelphia.</p><p>&#8220;Customers in the Wilkes-Barre, Scranton and Pocono region were often disappointed with the lack of convenient schedule options to and from Allentown, and we wanted to help with their request,&#8221; <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/business/498677/behind-the-business-with-bob-chepalonis-beginning-and-ending-the-day-with-note" target="_blank">Martz General Manager</a><a href="https://www.timesleader.com/business/498677/behind-the-business-with-bob-chepalonis-beginning-and-ending-the-day-with-note" target="_blank"> Bob </a><a href="https://www.timesleader.com/business/498677/behind-the-business-with-bob-chepalonis-beginning-and-ending-the-day-with-note" target="_blank">Chepalonis</a> said.</p><p>The company is adding Allentown stops to its existing Philadelphia route, so travelers will not be required to transfer or lay over to reach the Lehigh Valley.</p><p><a href="https://martztrailways.com//departures-from-pennsylvania/" target="_blank">The trips will continue to begin in Scranton, serving Wilkes-Barre and White Haven en route to Allentown and Philadelphia</a>. There will be three trips per day on Fridays and Sundays and two trips every other day. Fares will be just over $30 one way or $52 round trip, Chepalonis added.</p><p>Tickets can be purchased by visiting any Martz location in Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Mount Pocono, Delaware Water Gap, Blakeslee and the Allentown Bus Terminal.
