Lowe, Gitkos announce engagement

<p>Tino and Elizabeth &#8220;Betty&#8221; Turco, of Laflin, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 15.</p><p>The couple was married on June 15, 1968, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter, by the late Rev. Enrico Giovetti. A reception at the Mayfair Supper Club and honeymoon to Hawaii followed.</p><p>Mrs. Turco, RN, BSN, is retired. She was the school nurse at Pittston Area High School from 1990 to 2012. Mr. Turco, also retired, spent his 35-year career in education with the Pittston Area School District, where he was middle school principal..</p><p>The Turcos have three children, Michele, of Laflin; Michael, of Philadelphia; and Tina, of Fallston, Md. They have three grandchildren, Lennon, 7; Jace, 5; and Juliet, 3.</p><p>A surprise party with family and close friends was hosted by their children at Fox Hill Country Club.</p><style>
