PTO treasureraccused of theftKINGSTON &#8212; The treasurer for Wyoming Valley West&#8217;s Parent Teacher Organization, or PTO, has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars.Pamela Sue Brady, 36, of Kingston, was charged last week with a felony count of theft by unlawful taking and two felony counts of forgery after police say she stole over $14,000 in six months.According to police, Brady has served as the treasurer since June 2016. They began investigating Brady after they were contacted by the principal of Schuyler Avenue Elementary in Kingston, who said a review of the PTO&#8217;s checking account revealed theft.Over six months, starting in December 2017 and continuing to May, Brady allegedly made numerous unauthorized transactions from the account, writing out as many as nine checks either to herself or payable to cash.Police say Brady stole over $3,800 in the month of February alone.She voluntarily confessed to the thefts in an interview June 8, authorities report. She said she used forged checks, cash and the organization&#8217;s ATM card for personal use, according to a criminal complaint. She also allegedly admitted to faking reports to make the group&#8217;s account balance seem larger than it really was.Court records show Brady is free on $5,000 unsecured bail. She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 27.Police: Ashley manflashed woman in WBWILKES-BARRE &#8212; An Ashley man allegedly flashed a woman then threatened a man with a weapon.Jarrett Edmonds, 36, was arrested Wednesday in Wilkes-Barre in the 100 block of Barney Street after officers received reports of two men fighting. One officer recognized Edmonds and knew he was wanted by the Luzerne County Sheriff&#8217;s Office on other charges, authorities say.The incident started when Edmonds approached a vehicle with a woman and two young children sitting inside. He allegedly exposed himself and began touching himself in front of the woman.When the woman alerted another man who came out of the Barney Street home, Edmonds allegedly threatened him with a box cutter and fled.Edmonds is facing charges of indecent exposure, open lewdness and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanor counts. He&#8217;s free on $5,000 unsecured bail and has a preliminary hearing July 3.WB man sentencedin string of robberiesWILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Wilkes-Barre man who said he robbed stores while &#8220;drug sick&#8221; was sentenced Thursday to spend 24 months in the state&#8217;s Intermediate Punishment Program. IPP could include prison time, house arrest, probation and drug treatment.Adam Migatulski, 30, pleaded guilty in February to a string of robberies in the Wilkes-Barre area in November 2017, robbing Peter&#8217;s Ice Cream and Deli on Blackman Street, Curry Donuts on Hazle Street and Pantry Quik on Carey Avenue, all in only two days.Migatulski must pay about $1,000 in restitution to his victims.He reportedly told police he spent $70,000 on cocaine and heroin and began robbing stores when he ran out of money.Teen&#8217;s death ruled homicideFREELAND &#8212; After an autopsy Thursday, the death of 17-year-old Anthony Bonney was ruled a homicide.Luzerne County Coroner William Lisman said Bonney, of Freeland, died Monday after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.State Police accuse Brandon Joseph Gambardella, 18, of West Hazleton, of shooting the teen after Bonney tried to sell drywall shavings and baking soda to Gambardella as cocaine.As of Thursday, Gambardella is still only facing charges of aggravated assault.
