<p>BUTLER TWP. &#8212; The search for a McAdoo man indicted by a federal grand jury earlier this month on charges he threatened government officials including President Donald Trump has led to a wooded area near Old Turnpike Road and St. Johns Road.</p><p>U.S. Marshals suspect Shawn Christy, 27, forced his way inside a relative&#8217;s residence on Klinger Road in Drums Wednesday night, stealing three handguns.</p><p>Unmarked black helicopters have been flying over a heavily wooded area not far away for much of Thursday. </p><p>Federal authorities say Christy is considered armed and dangerous.</p><p>U.S Deputy Marshal Robert Clark told reporters Wednesday night that a 9mm, .380-cal and .22-cal handguns were reported stolen from the residence, according to broadcast reports.</p><p>Neighbors have expressed concern about the situation. One man, who declined to be identified, was seen out walking his dog with a handgun at his side as a measure of precaution.</p><p>Shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, one helicopter was hovering very slowly over the woods, with a long device hanging down from a rope. It wasn&#8217;t immediately clear what the device was. </p><p>Christy&#8217;s family posted a message on his Facebook page that reads: &#8220;Shawn Christy, our son, please surrender yourself. Come home, the door is open. Stealing your uncle&#8217;s guns has elevated this situation to a place it should not have gone. Let the U.S. Attorney take care of Holly and Lahovski. Mom and I love you. Come home. Karen Christy.&#8221;</p><p>Federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint against Christy on June 19, alleging he posted on Facebook threatening messages that he was going to &#8220;harm, injure, and kill a police chief, other law enforcement officers, a district attorney and President Donald J. Trump.&#8221;</p><p>A federal grand jury on July 10 indicted Christy on charges he threatened to shoot Trump in the head, use lethal force on any law enforcement officer that attempts to detain him, and kill Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli by putting a bullet in his head.</p><p>Christy allegedly posted the threats on Facebook between June 3 and June 12, according to the indictment.</p><p>Christy has been on the run for more than a month.</p><p>Federal authorities served a search warrant at his residence on South Harrison Street on June 20. The search also involved a wooded area near the Scranton School for the Deaf where authorities alleged Christy forced his way inside stealing food last week.</p><p>Christy served nine months in federal prison in Alaska in 2011 on charges he harassed the lawyers of then vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.</p><style>
