Hazleton couple plead guilty to deadly arson, sentenced to years behind bars

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; After going on a county-wide robbery spree last November, a Hazle Township man has been sentenced to spend years in state prison.</p><p>Raymond Bolling, 42, previously pleaded guilty to three counts of robbery and a count each of attempted robbery and theft by unlawful taking in March.</p><p>He appeared again in court before Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough on Friday. Vough sentenced Bolling to a period of between nine and 18 years in state prison between the charges.</p><p>Bolling was accused of attempting to rob several stores in the Hazleton area and a Plains Township Family Dollar Store, all on Nov. 6.</p><p>According to police, Bolling started his day by attempting to rob Buddies&#8217; Bagels and the nearby Weis Market, both in West Hazleton.</p><p>Then, he moved north to Plains Township, where police say he robbed the Family Dollar on River Street, demanding money from a clerk. He got away with an unspecified amount of cash.</p><p>He ended the day at Ollie&#8217;s Bargain Outlet at the Church Hill Mall near Hazleton. Police say he handed the clerk a note, which said he had a gun and wanted money. He got away with $700 there.</p><p>Bolling was apprehended the next day when Hazleton Police tracked him to the Hazleton Motor Inn on East Broad Street after receiving a tip.</p><p>Vough ordered Bolling to pay restitution to the stores he robbed and to have no further contact with them. Bolling was remanded to a state prison to begin his sentence.</p><style>
