<p>DALLAS &#8212; A tentative agreement has been reached in the lengthy Dallas teachers contract dispute, which has featured three strikes and court-ordered negotiations since the last deal expired in August 2015.</p><p>According to a joint statement, the Dallas School Board and the Dallas Education Association (DEA) both agreed to a proposed contract from a mediator, saying they would recommend it for formal approval.</p><p>According to DEA president Michael Cherinka, the union ratified the proposal Thursday night in what he called an &#8220;all but unanimous&#8221; vote. Cherinka declined to give any details regarding what the contract entails, saying he could not speak about it until it goes before the board, thanks to a previously imposed gag order.</p><p>School district solicitor Vito DeLuca said the school board would meet at 7 p.m. Sunday to vote on the proposal.</p><p>If it&#8217;s approved, it would finally end the long-running labor strife that&#8217;s marred multiple school years.</p><p>The last teachers&#8217; strike lasted for one day in June.</p><p>The conflict came to a head this summer when it moved into the realm of Luzerne County Court.</p><p>Judge William H. Amesbury issued an order for court-directed negotiations, which the district eventually refused to attend and filed an appeal against the order.</p><p>In August, both sides agreed to binding arbitration, dropping court actions against each other.</p><style>
