Williamsport rolls past Crestwood

<p>TUNKHANNOCK &#8212; The Tunkhannock Tigers scored early and often against the winless Holy Redeemer Royals on Friday night, as they carried over the momentum from their first victory last week to a dominating 36-0 win.</p><p>It was Military Appreciation Night, as the hometown Tigers wore camo uniforms that had the words &#8220;Thank You&#8221; on the back to honor the troops.</p><p>Tunkhannock wasted no time and recovered the onside kick to start the game at the 34-yard line. The Tigers effortlessly marched down the field, culminated by senior fullback Matt Ramey&#8217;s 1-yard goal line plunge into the end zone to give his team an early 7-0 advantage just over two minutes into the contest.</p><p>Tunkhannock would keep up its feverish pace on its next offensive drive, as the Tigers capitalized on Redeemer&#8217;s fumbled snap on a punt at midfield. Junior tailback Gavin D&#8217;Amato took the carry all the way to the house on a 35-yard touchdown run to give his ball club a 14-0 lead with less than five minutes to go in the first quarter.</p><p>Tunkhannock left no doubt heading into halftime where the momentum was heading.</p><p>Speedster standout senior Garrett Hopkins, who led his team in rushing on the night with 98 yards on just 13 carries and also caught two balls for 40 yards in the contest, would not be denied after being stopped at the 1-yard line earlier in the game. This time he completed the drive at the goal line and scampered in from 3 yards out with 2:54 left in the second quarter to give his team a 24-0 lead at the half.</p><p>The last big play of the game for Tunkhannock came just 57 seconds into the third quarter. Sophomore signal caller Jack Chilson threw up a perfect rainbow 50-yard touchdown bomb down the field to wideout Jake Stevens to give the Tigers a 31-0 lead.</p><p>On the night, Chilson completed 8 of 15 passes for 183-yards.</p><p>Redeemer&#8217;s offense was shut down for the majority of the night, finishing with 106 yards and six first downs.</p><p>The lone bright spot for the Royals offense came from speedster quarterback Justice Shoats, who led his team in rushing with 63 yards on just six carries.</p><style>
