<p>EATON TWP. &#8212; A woman from Noxen who works as a police officer in Lehman Township was charged with drunken driving after a crash in Wyoming County earlier this month.</p><p>State police at Tunkhannock allege Alaisha Rebecca Sherwood, 29, crashed a Jeep Wrangler in the area of Routes 29 and 292 on Oct. 13.</p><p>Sherwood had a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath, and displayed bloodshot and glossy eyes, troopers reported.</p><p>They said Sherwood claimed she consumed several glasses of wine. She was administered a breath test that registered her alcohol level at .115 percent, according to court records. The driving limit is .08.</p><p>Sherwood was charged with two counts of driving under the influence and three traffic offenses. The charges were filed with District Judge Carl W. Smith in Tunkhannock on Monday, and mailed to Sherwood.</p><p>A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 29.</p><p>Sherwood received her Act 120 credentials from Lackawanna Police Academy in 2015.</p><p>David Sutton, supervisor chairperson in Lehman Township, and M. John Haley, solicitor, could not be reached for comment to determine Sherwood&#8217;s employment status Wednesday.</p><p>According to the criminal complaint, Clayton Brown told state police he was traveling on Route 29 when a Jeep that was tailgating passed him. Brown claimed he was then behind the Jeep that was traveling at a high rate of speed when it fishtailed, striking a rock ledge. The impact caused the Jeep to roll over.</p><p>A trooper who arrived at the scene allegedly found Sherwood standing beside the wrecked Jeep.</p><style>
