Hanna Pavill named Northwest Area’s Senior Student of the Month

<p>Dr. Meghan Sullivan, professor of philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, will present a free public lecture titled &#8220;Time Biases&#8221; at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Burke Auditorium of the McGowan School of Business at King&#8217;s College.</p><p>Sullivan&#8217;s interactive presentation is part of the national Hesburgh Lecture Series. The event is co-sponsored by the McGowan Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility at King&#8217;s and the Notre Dame Club of Hanover Township.</p><p>Sullivan will examine assumptions about time and change that play a significant role in how people plan for the future and how they view their lives as integrated wholes. Sullivan will describe some time traps, false assumptions about time and change, that are likely to lead to adverse decision-making.</p><p>Sullivan&#8217;s book, &#8220;Time Biases: A Theory of Rational Planning and Personal Persistence,&#8221; was published in August. She earned a bachelor&#8217;s degree in philosophy and politics from the University of Virginia, a bachelor of philosophy degree from Oxford University, and a doctorate in philosophy from Rutgers University. She studied at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.</p><p>The McGowan School of Business is located at the corner of North River and West Jackson streets.
