<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The luxury apartments at 600 Waterfront might not have been built yet, but that&#8217;s not stopping the developers from hosting an open house for potential future tenants.</p><p>The apartment complex is the latest project from father-and-son team Ross and Gersh Spengler, the developers behind the Waterfront Complex on River Street, just outside downtown Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>Construction is set to begin on 600 Waterfront in April 2019, and the Spenglers say it&#8217;s expected to be completed by April 2021.</p><p>The eight-story complex will feature 102 &#8220;luxury residences,&#8221; comprised of both one- and two-bedroom apartments, fitted with &#8220;state-of-the-art&#8221; amenities.</p><p>The Spenglers believe an apartment complex like this one is the logical conclusion to what they perceive as an explosion in potential in the Wilkes-Barre area.</p><p>&#8220;We live in a community where we see revitalization taking place,&#8221; Gersh Spengler said. &#8220;Let&#8217;s see how much we can do to improve the experience.&#8221;</p><p>According to the Spenglers, one of the most important parts of revitalizing an area is making it more livable, and they believe the 600 Waterfront property is key to pulling that off. And they&#8217;re already seeing plenty of interest in the property from people from all walks of life &#8212; from millennials who moved to the area for work to empty-nesters who are looking to downsize.</p><p>The complex will be fitted with a community center for tenants, a balcony overlooking the Susquehanna River for each apartment, and 26,000 square feet of retail space which the Spenglers plan to fill with shops and restaurants.</p><p>&#8220;We want to have stuff that appeals to the tenants,&#8221; Ross Spengler said. &#8220;We&#8217;re looking to increase the quality of life.&#8221;</p><p>While the Spenglers admit the move-in date is still some time away, they&#8217;re holding an open house for potential tenants at the River Grille on Wednesday, Nov. 14.</p><p>From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., those who are interested can see the first mock-ups of the apartment interiors and get information about pre-leasing opportunities.
