<p>HARRISBURG &#8211; The Pennsylvania Restaurant &amp; Lodging Association has announced that Metz Culinary Management has been selected as the recipient of its Restaurant Neighbor Award.</p><p>Metz is a family-owned and operated food-service management company based in Dallas.</p><p>PRLA promotes the state&#8217;s hospitality and tourism industries. It annually recognizes industry members who provide services that exceed the needs and expectations of the communities they serve.</p><p>This year alone, PRLA officials said, Metz has raised nearly $30,000 for Dinners for Kids, a local charity in Luzerne County which provides nutritionally balanced dinners for children in need.</p><p>When disaster hit communities nationally in September 2017, with hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, Metz Culinary Management created a one-time only cherry lemonade that they sold in their TGI Fridays restaurants in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, raising $5,234 for the Red Cross of Northeast Pennsylvania, with 100-percent of proceeds going directly to those impacted.</p><p>Metz team members and managers in Melbourne, Fla. jumped to contribute to relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, as well as the Pulse Nightclub shooting, by preparing and delivering meals for first responders.</p><p>&#8220;Speaking on behalf of the entire Metz organization, we are humbled to receive this recognition from the PRLA, and proud of the extensive efforts put forth by our team members across the country,&#8221; company spokeswoman Maureen Metz said.</p><style>
