<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police took a man into custody Monday afternoon after a 13-year-old girl called 911 to report an abduction attempt on Charles Street.</p><p>The suspect was seen in handcuffs at the corner of Charles and New Alexander streets at approximately 3:35 p.m. When an officer asked the man what his name was, he could be heard replying: &#8220;Einstein.&#8221;</p><p>He was subsequently identified as Einstein Lima, 39, of Wilkes-Barre and/or Brooklyn, N.Y.</p><p>According to a report by city police, the teen reported to officers that she was approached by an unknown black male operating a black SUV, and the man attempted to engage her in conversation.</p><p><strong>&#8216;I ran&#8217;</strong></p><p>The 13-year old girl, whose name is being withheld due to her age and the nature of the incident, described Einstein as a black male, in his late 20s to mid-30s, wearing a grey sweatshirt and a beanie hat.</p><p>&#8220;He asked me what my name was,&#8221; the teen told a Times Leader reporter. &#8220;He sped down the street and I ran. He circled the block again and that&#8217;s when he got out of his car and grabbed me.&#8221;</p><p>The girl said she ignored the suspect and continued to walk along Charles Street. Soon after, however, the man approached the teen from behind and grabbed her in a &#8220;bear hug,&#8221; attempting to pull her away.</p><p>She was able to free herself from the man&#8217;s grasp, then fled to a nearby residence and called 911.</p><p>&#8220;When he grabbed me, I elbowed him,&#8221; the 13-year old added. &#8220;He fell to the ground when I did that.&#8221;</p><p><strong>Located, identified</strong></p><p>Police said officers on patrol located the suspect&#8217;s vehicle, with the man inside. He was positively identified by the girl and taken into custody.</p><p>As witnessed by the Times Leader, officers pulled the male out from the back seat of an unmarked police car at about 3:52 p.m. and uncuffed him before they stood him out in the middle of the street.</p><p>Two police cars then pulled down New Alexander Street while the man was standing in the middle of the road. An officer got out of the car and shouted to the other officers from out 20-feet away, &#8220;that&#8217;s him.&#8221;</p><p>The male, later identified as Lima, was put back into cuffs and driven away shortly before 4 p.m.</p><p>A tow truck was called to the scene to tow away a black Chevrolet Tahoe bearing New York taxi license plates.</p><p><strong>Facing charges</strong></p><p>Police said Lima was facing charges of false imprisonment, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.</p><p>Wilkes-Barre Area Superintendent Brian Costello responded to the incident via e-mail, noting that the student had been walking home from school.</p><p>&#8220;Law enforcement responded and quickly arrested the suspect. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information can be given at this time,&#8221; Costello added.</p><p>Charles Street residents who asked not to be identified told the Times Leader that there have been other abduction attempts on the block in recent weeks.</p><style>
