<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Former city police officer Robert Collins, accused of sexually assaulting four women while on duty, will receive an annual pension of $33,587, according to city records.</p><p>Collins, 53, of Wright Township, retired earlier this month while on paid suspension pending an internal investigation of the allegations.</p><p>State police arrested Collins on Jan. 22, alleging between 2013 and 2014 he offered the women the opportunity to avoid criminal charges if they engaged in sex acts with him. Collins has been charged with four counts of official oppression, four counts of obstructing administration of law or other government function, three counts of rape, three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, three counts of witness intimidation, two counts of indecent assault and other offenses.</p><p>He posted $125,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing set for March 21 in Luzerne County Central Court.</p><p>In addition the criminal charges, notice of a civil suit was filed against Collins and the city on Feb. 21 in Luzerne County Court.</p><p>According to information provided by the city, Collins retired on Feb. 9, with a total of 12 years and one day on the force. He was hired on Feb. 9, 2007. Coupled with his four years in the military, he had 16 years of service toward his pension.</p><p>The city listed his monthly payment at $2,798. For this month, the payment was pro-rated at $1,899, covering the time period of Feb. 10-28.</p><p>Collins did not serve the 20 years required to collect a full pension. The city calculated he was eligible for 40 percent of the $83,968 he received over the last 12 months:</p><p>&#8226; $71,961 in regular pay.</p><p>&#8226; $887 in comp time.</p><p>&#8226; $2,697 in overtime.</p><p>&#8226; $1,654 in court pay.</p><p>&#8226; $4,974 in holiday pay.</p><p>&#8226; $293 in differential pay.</p><p>&#8226; $1,500 in Act 120 pay.</p><style>
