<p>After Tom Kostopoulos retired at the end of last season and Jean-Sebastien Dea was claimed off of waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins organization and sent to the AHL in November, the center took over the helm as the longest tenured Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguin.</p><p>During Monday&#8217;s NHL trade deadline, Dea&#8217;s time with the Penguins came to an end when he was traded to the Florida Panthers for defenseman Chris Wideman.</p><p>Dea, 24, appeared in one game with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during the 2013-14 season and spent the bulk of his career with the team, aside from stints with Pittsburgh and the New Jersey Devils. He leaves the with the fifth-most games played (288), fifth in goals (72) and sixth in points (91).</p><p>This season, Dea recorded six goals and 22 points in 26 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He also posted three goals in 20 games with New Jersey and scored a goal in three games with Pittsburgh.</p><p>His best season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton came in 2017-18, when Dea registered 18 goals and 50 points in 73 games. In 2015-16, Dea scored his highest goal total, 20, in 75 games.</p><p>Wideman, 29, has seven points (2G-5A) in 25 NHL games this season split between the Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers, and Ottawa Senators. Over the course of four NHL seasons, he has recorded 45 points (16G-29A) in 181 career games. He also appeared in 15 playoff games with the Ottawa Senators in 2016-17, where he registered one goal and three assists.</p><p>The 5-foot-10, 183-pound Wideman has tallied 143 points (33G-110A) in 224 games at the AHL level.</p><p>He enjoyed his best campaign in 2014-15 with the Binghamton Senators, where he led all AHL defensemen in goals (19), assists (42), and points (61) and was named an AHL All-Star. He was also awarded the Eddie Shore award for the American Hockey League&#8217;s &#8216;Best Defenseman.&#8217;</p><p>Wideman will report to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, but there is no word if he will join the team in time for Tuesday&#8217;s practice.</p><p>Wideman may not be the only new face joining Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Also on Monday, Pittsburgh assigned forward Teddy Blueger and defenseman Juuso Riikola to the AHL team, although the moves may have been made to make the two players available for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at any point during the rest of the regular season and playoffs (players had to be on the AHL roster by noon on Monday to be eligible).</p><p>Among those who weren&#8217;t re-assigned by Pittsburgh was Garrett Wilson, who served as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton&#8217;s captain this season before being recalled.</p><p>In another move, Pittsburgh called up defenseman Zach Trotman on Monday to aid a blueline hampered by injuries to Kris Letang and Brian Dumoulin.</p><style>
