WB Police seek man for allegedly shooting 3, including 2 women found in car

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Trevor Yates arrived in Wilkes-Barre on Monday, practiced with the Penguins for the first time on Tuesday and will play his first game on Wednesday.</p><p>It&#8217;s been a busy few days for the 24-year-old rookie, but it&#8217;s nothing he isn&#8217;t used to.</p><p>Before Yates was acquired by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Feb. 8, he had already played in two AHL games with Grand Rapids and 27 games with Toledo in the ECHL. Immediately after the trade, Yates was assigned to Wheeling, and his call-up to the Penguins marks the fourth team he&#8217;s been on this season.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been a little hectic at times, but you don&#8217;t focus on the past and instead focus on where you are right now,&#8221; Yates said. &#8220;I&#8217;m happy to be on my fourth team right now because it&#8217;s a good fit and it&#8217;s in the AHL.&#8221;</p><p>After dealing with a limited role in Toledo that resulted in seven points in 27 games, Yates was handed a bigger opportunity in Wheeling with more time on the top two lines and the power play. He responded by producing at a point-per-game clip (6-8-14, 14 games), which was reminiscent of his production at Cornell University prior to turning pro.</p><p>&#8220;Just playing a lot more than I did earlier in the year and in bigger situations helped,&#8221; Yates said. &#8220;Also, a fresh start from the first half of the year, and I fit in well with this system.&#8221;</p><p>Yates describes himself as a two-way player who likes to go to the net. He played with Penguins forward Anthony Angello for three seasons at Cornell and was Sam Lafferty&#8217;s teammate on a prep school team at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts.</p><p>Having a few familiar faces in the Penguins locker room made the adjustment easier for Yates.</p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m good friends with both of them. It helps,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Penguins coach Clark Donatelli said Yates will play in Wednesday&#8217;s game at Lehigh Valley, probably on the third or fourth line. If Donatelli likes what he sees, he didn&#8217;t rule out moving Yates up to the top two lines during the game.</p><p>No matter where he plays, Yates is just happy for the opportunity to be on the ice with the Penguins.</p><p>&#8220;Whenever you get a chance to play right away, it&#8217;s awesome,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I&#8217;m definetly looking forward to the opportunity to prove that I can play at this level.&#8221;</p><p><strong>NOTES</strong></p><p>&#8226; Yates won&#8217;t be the only new face in the Penguins&#8217; lineup on Wednesday. Jake Lucchini, who was signed by Pittsburgh to a one-year entry level contract on Monday, will be in the lineup if forward Pat McGrath (upper body) is unable to play, which Donatelli said is a likely scenario.</p><p>Lucchini&#8217;s contract won&#8217;t begin until next season, and he&#8217;ll spend the rest of the current season with the Penguins on an amateur tryout contract. Lucchini, 23, played four years at Michigan Tech University, leading his team as captain this past season with 26 points (11G-15A) in 38 games.</p><p>In addition to McGrath, Ryan Scarfo, Ben Sexton and Chris Wideman won&#8217;t be ready for Wednesday&#8217;s game due to injuries.</p><p>&#8226; The Penguins&#8217; five overtime game-winning goals this season have come from five different players: Kevin Czuczman, Ethan Prow, Teddy Blueger, Adam Johnson and Sam Miletic.</p><style>
