<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Four female inmates at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility were arraigned Thursday on charges they were trading and using methamphetamine inside the facility.</p><p><a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/736358/four-inmates-charged-with-peddling-meth-inside-correctional-facility" target="_blank">As first reported by the Times Leader on </a><a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/736358/four-inmates-charged-with-peddling-meth-inside-correctional-facility" target="_blank">Tuesday</a>, Jamie Lynn Brownlie, 36, of White Haven, allegedly concealed methamphetamine in one of her body cavities when she was brought to jail in January.</p><p>Brownlie then began to provide meth to Joleen Gambardella, 37, of Hazle Township, and other inmates using two &#8220;monitors&#8221; identified as Aubreana Sophia Hosey, 20, of West Hazleton, and Linzy Chodnicki, 30, of Duryea, according to court records.</p><p>Hosey and Chodnicki worked as &#8220;monitors&#8221; walking around the female cell block to make sure no other inmates harmed themselves, court records say.</p><p>The four inmates were each charged with contraband and possession of a controlled substance by an inmate after a joint investigation by the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, Luzerne County Corrections Administration and Hanover Township Police Narcotics Unit. They were arraigned by District Judge Thomas Malloy in Central Court and remanded to the correctional facility for lack of $75,000 bail each.</p><p>According to criminal complaints:</p><p>The investigation began Jan. 24 when correctional officers searched Brownlie&#8217;s cell and found suspected narcotics in a jacket. It was also learned Gambardella may have received meth from Brownlie.</p><p>Gambardella told investigators she used &#8220;monitors&#8221; to deliver meth to other inmates but did so in small amounts because she is greedy and kept most of the drug for herself.</p><p>As investigators were returning to the facility with a search warrant, Gambardella removed meth from one of her body cavities that she surrendered to a corrections officer.</p><p>Brownlie admitted she brought meth into the facility by concealing it in a body cavity when she was jailed.</p><p>Brownlie claimed she gave some to &#8220;monitors&#8221; by slipping it in their pockets to avoid attention with hand-to-hand exchanges. She received shower shoes, sweatpants, sweatshirts and hygiene products for meth, and Gambardella received approximately $150 to $180 of items from inmates in exchange for the drug.</p><p>Hosey and Chodnicki told investigators they received meth from Brownlie but described the drug as &#8220;dirty meth&#8221; because it was not pure.</p><style>
