Four female inmates arraigned on drug charges

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Pittston man who allegedly drove the vehicle involved in a drive-by shooting on Lockhart Street last month now faces trial in Luzerne County Court.</p><p>Police said Jyzah M. Morgan, 21, of Fulton Street, drove his Mitsubishi Lancer as Onje Crowder, 19, discharged a firearm multiple times at 56-58 Lockhart St. on Feb. 18.</p><p>After the shooting, police said Morgan altered the Mitsubishi by removing a rear spoiler and added tint to its windows.</p><p>Morgan appeared Thursday for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Richard Cronauer in Wilkes-Barre, who forwarded to county court two counts each of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm into an occupied residence and one count each of tampering with evidence and criminal conspiracy.</p><p>Morgan, who was released after posting $100,000 bail on the day of his arrest Feb. 26, has his next court appearance before county Judge Joseph Sklarosky Jr. on May 2, court records say.</p><p>The case will likely be transferred to another judge due to a conflict as the judge&#8217;s father, Attorney Joseph Sklarosky Sr., is representing Morgan.</p><p>Police, meanwhile, continue to search for Crowder, 19, of 37 McCarragher St., Wilkes-Barre. A few days before the Lockhart Street shooting, Crowder signed a rental agreement for a residence on Walter&#8217;s Way, Wilkes-Barre, which was searched by police earlier this month.</p><p>Court records say Morgan and Crowder drove past the Lockhart Street residence yelling, and returned a short time later when Crowder fired multiple rounds from a 9-mm handgun.</p><p>Multiple rounds struck the residence, including a bullet that passed through a window and nearly hit two women seated on a couch. Three other adults and an 8-year-old child were also inside at the time of the shooting, court records say.</p><p>No injuries were reported.</p><p>Police obtained surveillance video from the area including United Mart, a store at Carey Avenue and Lockhart Street, which Morgan and Crowder entered before the gunfire.</p><p>Police traced the vehicle to Morgan&#8217;s residence where it was found parked on the street without the spoiler.</p><p>Court records say a handgun, several boxes of ammunition, a cell phone and in excess of $1,000 cash were seized from the Mitsubishi. Some of the ammunition was the same caliber found at the Lockhart Street shooting, records state.</p><p>Two firearms and additional ammunition were allegedly found in Morgan&#8217;s residence.</p><p>A bail request form filled out by police when Morgan was arraigned Feb. 26 states the shooting involved &#8220;gang activity.&#8221;</p><p>Police say Crowder is also involved in a shooting Feb. 19.</p><style>
