Pittston man now faces trial in WB drive-by shooting

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Wilkes University continues to expand its fully online degree offerings by launching a masters of business administration degree that can be completely done via the internet. The program starts this fall and interested students can apply by Aug. 1, though new online students will be accepted in the fall, spring and summer semesters.</p><p>The program, which naturally falls under the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business and Leadership, is &#8220;designed for aspiring business leaders wishing to advance in their careers, or experienced managers looking to grow their communication, professionalism and decision-making skills, while stressing team performance, ethics and social responsibility,&#8221; according to a media release.</p><p>The program offers accelerated, seven-week courses that allow students to focus on a single course at a time while still completing two courses per semester. Doing so allows completion of the degree in two years.</p><p>&#8220;Business professionals with an MBA tend to see advancement opportunities more quickly in their careers,&#8221; Sidhu director of graduate programs Jennifer Edmonds said in the release.</p><p>&#8220;We are excited to offer a leadership MBA to a national audience while maintaining the small-class sizes and personal attention that makes our Wilkes MBA program unique,&#8221; she added.</p><p>The online program joins the weekend format MBA that has students attend classes on the second Saturday of each month with online work between those classes. The weekend MBA provides training in global business, leadership and management.</p><p>Wilkes is offering an information session on both programs at 6 p.m. March 25 in room 231 of the University Center on Main, 169 S. Main St. in Wilkes-Barre. Free parking is available behind the building.
