Four arrested in drug raid across from Hanover Area High School

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The dog stolen in yesterday&#8217;s armed robbery of a South Wilkes-Barre pet store has been found, and the owner says it&#8217;s likely thanks in no small part to the attention the story got on social media.</p><p>But the man who robbed the store is still on the lam.</p><p>Tropic Pet Center, located on South Main Street in the city, was victim to an armed robbery on Wednesday, when a man showed a weapon tucked into his waistband before running out the store with a rottweiler puppy.</p><p>David Brill, the store&#8217;s owner, contacted a Times Leader reporter Thursday afternoon to say that the puppy had been found.</p><p>Brill said the rottweiler was found on a street earlier Thursday, and a test of a microchip that had been implanted into the puppy confirmed it was the same dog.</p><p>It was the attention from media outlets and social media that scared the robber into setting the dog free, Brill thinks, but he said Wilkes-Barre Police had told him the suspect had not yet been apprehended.</p><p>Police were called to the scene at approximately 4:35 p.m. Wednesday on a report of the robbery. Brill told reporters the man in question, a light-skinned black male of about 170 pounds and 5-feet 11-inches tall, first came into the store with an adult woman and a small child and asked to play with the puppy.</p><p>The trio left the store, but the man shortly returned, scooped up the puppy and flashed the weapon by lifting up his shirt.</p><p>Anyone with information can call 911 or Wilkes-Barre Police at 570-208-4200.</p><style>
