<p>ROCHESTER, N.Y. &#8211;Rochester scored the winning run on a fielder&#8217;s choice with one out in the 10th inning as the Red Wings defeated the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 4-3 Thursday morning in the series finale.</p><p>Rochester had runner at the corners when Ronald Torreyes hit a grounder to SWB first baseman Ryan Lavarnway. Lavarnway&#8217;s throw home was too late to get Zander Wiel at the plate.</p><p>The game moved into extra innings thanks to a late charge from SWB that saw it send seven men to the plate in the top of the ninth.</p><p>The frame began with a walk to Billy Burns, who stood at second base following a groundout by Matt Lipka. The next man up was Cliff Pennington, who doubled into the left field corner to score Burns and bring the RailRiders within 3-2. After a Trey Amburgey pinch-hit single pushed Pennington to third base, the RailRiders send another pinch hitter to the plate in Lavarnway. His RBI single tied the game and set the table for Rochester to walk-off with the win.</p><p>The loss overshadowed one of the best pitching performances of the season by SWB. David Hale went 6.1 innings and allowed just two earned runs while striking out nine batters. Cale Coshow was ticketed with his first loss of the season, but tossed a total 2.1 innings of relief in which he didn&#8217;t allow an earned run.</p><p>Offensively, the top of the order had a couple bright spots including Gosuke Katoh (2-for-3), but it was Pennington who led the 10-hit performance by the RailRiders. The MLB veteran infielder finished 3-for-4 with a double, home run and two RBI after entering the game in a 3-for-31 slump.</p><p>The RailRiders pile on the bus and head south to PNC Field, where the welcome a seven-game homestand beginning 6:35 p.m. Friday night against the Syracuse Mets. It&#8217;s the first game of the season between the two IL North rivals, who feature former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow on their roster.</p><style>
