Three arrested in Hazleton fentanyl bust

<p>SCRANTON &#8212; Federal agents on Monday arrested a Wyoming County man wanted on drug trafficking and stolen weapons charges.</p><p>U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives took Robert Hoyt, 55, of Eaton Township, into custody after he was indicted a week earlier by a federal grand jury. The indictment had been sealed pending his capture.</p><p>U.S. Magistrate Judge Karoline Mehalchick in Scranton allowed Hoyt to remain free on the conditions that, among others, he not possess weapons, use alcohol or illegal drugs and submit to drug testing.</p><p>The indictment handed up on June 25 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, said Hoyt used illegal drugs and was in possession of four handguns, two shotguns and approximately 239 rounds of ammunition between Nov. 11, 2018 and April 9 of this year in Luzerne and Wyoming counties.</p><p>Three of the firearms in Hoyt&#8217;s possession were stolen, the indictment said.</p><p>Hoyt also illegally distributed buprenorphine or Suboxone, on March 26 of this year in Luzerne County, the indictment said.</p><p>All of the firearms and ammunition are subject to forfeiture, the indictment said.</p><p>In addition to the ATF, the Kingston Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert O&#8217;Hara is prosecuting it.</p><style>
