‘Justice wasn’t served’ — 50 years since Chappaquiddick

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police arrested a Scranton woman on charges she burglarized a residence on Brazil Street Tuesday night.</p><p>While investigating the motive to the burglary, officers were told different reasons.</p><p>Jessica C. Mirabelli, 30, of Dorothy Street, told police she drove to 84 Brazil St. to talk with a woman to find out if she was out with her boyfriend, court records say.</p><p>Mirabelli parked down the street and arrived at the front door. She claimed she saw the other woman enter the house through a rear door.</p><p>Mirabelli then told police the other woman opened the front door and dragged her inside saying, &#8220;I&#8217;m going to make sure you go to jail for breaking into my house,&#8221; court records say.</p><p>Police said the other woman arrived home and encountered Mirabelli in a second-floor bedroom. A fight ensued that continued outside where officers found Mirabelli being held down outside a door.</p><p>Mirabelli&#8217;s sandal and a hair tie were found inside the house, police said.</p><p>Police suspect Mirabelli entered the house by obtaining a code to a push-button combination lock on an exterior door.</p><p>Mirabelli was arraigned by District Judge Joseph D. Spagnuolo Jr. in Luzerne County Central Court on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault and two counts of harassment. She was released after posting $10,000 bail.</p><style>
