<p>The Osterhout Free Library announces that Marisue Elias-Newman and Larry Newman are the 2019 annual campaign chairs. The Newmans accepted the position from the 2018 Chairs, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Last.</p><p>Elias-Newman, Esq. is the Assistant Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Berkshire Hathaway Guard Insurance Companies. She previously served as the director of the Pennsylvania State Workers Insurance Fund, as Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s City Attorney and as an attorney in private practice.</p><p>A past chair of the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau&#8217;s governing board, she currently serves on the board of directors of the National Workers Compensation Reinsurance Association, on the boards of the Delaware, New Jersey, and North Carolina state compensation rating bureaus, and on the King&#8217;s College President&#8217;s Council. A recipient of King&#8217;s College&#8217;s Leo Award, she is a graduate of King&#8217;s College and the Dickinson School of Law.</p><p>Larry Newman, AICP is the founding executive director of the Diamond City Partnership, Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s nonprofit downtown management organization. He previously served as the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber&#8217;s Vice President of Economic Development and as an urban planner in the public and private sectors.</p><p>He is a co-author of the Society of Architectural Historians&#8217; book &#8220;Buildings of Pennsylvania: Philadelphia	and Eastern Pennsylvania (2010).&#8221;</p><p>The past chair of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, he also serves on the board of directors of Penn&#8217;s Northeast and the Wilkes-Barre Industrial Development Authority, the Temple Israel Board of Trustees, and the King&#8217;s College President&#8217;s Council.</p><p>A recipient of Leadership Wilkes-Barre&#8217;s Award for Outstanding Community Leadership and the North Branch Land Trust&#8217;s Stewardship Award, he is a graduate of Princeton University and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.</p><p>The Newmans are the parents of three children and they reside in Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>The Newmans invite community members to join them at the Santorini Soiree, the Osterhout Library&#8217;s annual gala and largest fundraiser, on Friday, Sept. 13 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Westmoreland Club. She is being recognized for 10+ years of service on the board of directors of the Osterhout Library.</p><p>The Osterhout Free Library&#8217;s Annual Campaign Goal for 2019 is $300,000. All funds raised via the Annual Campaign go to support the Osterhout Free Library and its mission to provide free books, DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and educational programs to the residents of Wilkes-Barre and surrounding communities.</p><style>
