Chamber of Commerce event mixes networking with yoga

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The sights, sounds and smells of summer were in full effect this weekend at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Annual Bazaar in Miners Mills.</p><p>Potato pancakes, instant bingo, and live music were just some of what the bazaar had to offer, as the Holy Trinity Church celebrated its 50-year anniversary in style with a two-day picnic.</p><p>Men and women of all ages converged onto East Main Street for two nights of fun. Some traveled from far away, while others only had to take a trip up the street to be part of the action.</p><p>Michelle Stchur came all the way from Olyphant to attend the bazaar.</p><p>&#8220;I have family down this way,&#8221; Stchur said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve been coming here for probably something like 38 years of my life.&#8221;</p><p>For Joe Tabit, it was just a trip over from Plains Township.</p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve probably been coming here for the last five to seven years,&#8221; Tabit said.</p><p>But when asked about their reasons for coming here, both Tabit and Stchur had the same answer: the food.</p><p>&#8220;I get the food here that reminds me of my grandparents, who used to belong to this parish,&#8221; Stchur said.</p><p>There was a wide variety of selections on the menu at the bazaar, ranging from haluski to clam chowder, and just about everything in between.</p><p>Tabit couldn&#8217;t just tie himself down to one particular item on the menu.</p><p>&#8220;The piggies, the haluski, and we sample the other things too, but definitely the kielbasa.&#8221;</p><p>For anyone still looking to get their fill after a nice dinner, the church ran a bake sale, featuring an assortment of goodies and sweets. And of course, to wash it all down,the beer tent was a hot spot for bazaar-goers of legal age.</p><p>There were plenty of non-culinary activities to enjoy, as well.</p><p>For the adults, instant bingo was an instant hit. For the younger generation, there were various games and gift baskets available via raffle, full of prizes that could be fun for the whole family. The kids also got to enjoy a basketball hoop setup, in which they were given three shots to hit a basket and win a prize.</p><p>To top it all off, the live entertainment was provided by Wit&#8217;s End, rocking the house with a setlist of hits that had the Holy Trinity Church buzzing.</p><style>
