<p>PLAINS TWP. &#8212; Right on schedule, the Sheetz location in Plains Township is reopen, ready to serve all your convenience needs on Route 315.</p><p>Sheetz spokesperson Nick Ruffner told the Times Leader when the store closed in June that it would be reopen on Aug. 22, and now that the day in question has come, Ruffner said the store opened this morning.</p><p>The original store, more or less directly across from the Mohegan Sun Pocono casino, was closed and torn down earlier this summer, with the intention of completely replacing it with an upgraded version of Sheetz.</p><p>The new store is 5,476 square feet, and includes both indoor and outdoor seating for diners.</p><p>Additional fueling stations were also added, allowing as many as 16 vehicles to get gas at the same time.</p><p>The Plains Township Sheetz wasn&#8217;t the only one in our area to be closed and replaced; the Trucksville location is still coming along.</p><p>Ruffner said that location is still on track to be opened by its originally scheduled date, which is Sept. 27. The Trucksville store has been closed since April.</p><p>Based in Altoona, Sheetz Inc. has spread throughout much of the Mid-Atlantic region, with a total of 580 stores throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.</p><p>The company employs more than 18,500, and has numerous locations in our area, including several stores in both Luzerne and Lackawanna counties.</p><style>
