Second suspect charged in Plains burglary spree

Luzerne County residents can track coronavirus prevalence through a new online &ldquo;early warning monitoring dashboard&rdquo; the Pennsylvania Department of Health launched Tuesday.
				Arming communities with access to the latest data on infection changes is important, state Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine said in a release announcing the dashboard.
				&rdquo;Recent increases in COVID-19 cases in parts of the state have shown the need for Pennsylvanians to continue to take simple steps to prevent the spread of this virus,&rdquo; she wrote.
				Posted through a link at <a href="https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Monitoring-Dashboard.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">www.health.pa.gov</a>, the dashboard reports six statistics statewide and by county that will be updated weekly, an announcement said.
				The first statistic compares the confirmed cases from the most recent week to those in the previous seven days.
				In Luzerne County, the difference is minus 1.
				Hovering over that number with the computer mouse, a box pops up showing the county had 35 confirmed cases last week, from June 22 to 28, and 36 cases two weeks ago, or from June 15 to 21.
				A different trend has emerged statewide &mdash; 703 new cases. There were 3,677 last week and 2,974 the week before, the dashboard shows.
				The next statistic shows the incidence rate per 100,000 residents. It was 11 in the county last week and 11.3 the week before.
				Statewide, the incidence rate was 28.7 last week and 23.2 two weeks ago, according to the dashboard. Neighboring Lackawanna County&rsquo;s incidence rate was 32.3 last week.
				The other four statistics reported in the dashboard:
				&#8226; The positivity rate of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, which are the typical diagnostic tests for the coronavirus.
				The county&rsquo;s rate was 1.5% last week and 2% two weeks ago.
				The rate was 4% statewide for both weeks.
				&#8226; Difference in the average daily number of coronavirus hospitalizations in the last week compared to the week prior.
				In the county, the number is minus 0.6 because there were 9.3 average daily hospitalizations last week and 9.9 two weeks ago.
				At the state level, the average daily hospitalizations decreased by 71, with a total 681 last week and 752 two weeks ago.
				&#8226; Difference in the average daily number of coronavirus patients on ventilators.
				No county residents were reported on ventilators last week, and the statistic was reported as 0.1 two weeks ago.
				Pennsylvania had an average daily ventilator decrease of 31.6. The statewide average was 127.3 patients on ventilators last week and 158.9 two weeks ago.
				&#8226; Percent of hospital emergency department visits in the last week and prior week due to coronavirus-like-illness, which is under the acronym CLI.
				The county&rsquo;s number was 0.5% last week and 0.4% two weeks ago.
				Statewide, the percentage was 0.6.
