Scam targets parishioners of Catholic churches

PLAINS TWP. &mdash; Township police on Tuesday charged a man from Kingston for his alleged role in burglarizing three businesses on East Main Street in May.
				Michael Edward Pisano, 22, teamed up with Daydrian Dominique Burroughs, 23, of Exeter, to burglarize Lispi&rsquo;s Lounge, D&rsquo;s Diner and Coccia Ford on May 28, according to court records.
				A surveillance camera at D&rsquo;s Diner recorded the burglary and vandalism at the eatery, court records say.
				Pisano and Burroughs were detained when Kingston Township police found them sleeping inside a vehicle several hours after the burglaries.
				Burroughs was previously charged with burglary related offenses. He was released on $250,000 bail after he waived his right to a preliminary hearing June 10.
				Pisano was extradited from Cape May Correctional Facility in New Jersey and arraigned by District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo in Plains Township on three counts each of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts of theft and one count each of possessing instruments of crime and criminal mischief. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $250,000 bail.
				According to the criminal complaint:
				Police responded to D&rsquo;s Dinner at 1:26 a.m. on May 28 for a burglary and observed heavy damage to the front entrance. The front glass door was ripped away and multiple items were smashed inside the business, including an ATM and skill machines.
				A crow bar was found in the parking lot.
				Pisano and Burroughs left the diner but returned with a black Chevrolet pickup truck when they attached a chain to the truck to pull the ATM from the business, the complaint says.
				Police in the complaint reported a black Chevrolet pickup truck and a tow chain were reported stolen from Coccia Ford, the same truck used to steal the ATM at D&rsquo;s Diner.
				A break room at Coccia Ford was ransacked and a welding machine was used to burn a hole through a soda vending machine to access money.
				Inspection stickers and a catalytic converter to a Ford F250 truck was also stolen at the dealership.
				During an interview with police, Burroughs admitted to consuming alcohol when they burglarized Lispi&rsquo;s Lounge inside the same building with D&rsquo;s Diner, the complaint says.
