Hazleton Area&rsquo;s Kellen Warner and Delaware Valley&rsquo;s Aiden Oliver each passed for more than 300 yards Friday night when they combined to throw for nine touchdowns in the District 2 Class 6A football championship game.
				While the Cougars kept up with the Warriors in the passing statistics, they were never able to make up for a fast start by host Delaware Valley.
				Preston Machado ran 80 yards for a score on the game&rsquo;s first play and Delaware Valley opened a 20-point lead in the first 11 minutes on the way to its fifth straight district championship with a 55-30 victory.
				Warner completed 26-of-39 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns, but Hazleton Area (4-3) had a four-game winning streak end.
				After falling behind 20-0 in the first quarter and 34-7 in the second quarter, the Cougars closed within 17 by scoring twice in the last 47 seconds of the first half.
				They never got any closer.
				Oliver made sure of it.
				The Delaware Valley senior quarterback accounted for six touchdowns.
				Oliver was 10-for-20 for 302 yards and five touchdowns, all covering at least 25 yards. He also ran 2 yards for a fourth-quarter score and put his first three and last two kickoffs in the end zone for touchbacks.
				The Warriors receivers gave Oliver a boost with yardage after catches.
				Black, a freshman, took a tight end screen 84 yards for a 14-0 lead with 3:14 left in the first quarter. Mark Callanan turned a quick slant into a 51-yard score with 1:02 left in the quarter.
				The three Delaware Valley scoring possessions in the first quarter consisted of a total of five plays.
				Hazleton Area started its comeback attempt by going 80 yards in four plays, including a 61-yard Warner-to-Matt Cusatis touchdown on the first play of the second quarter.
				Delaware Valley added scores on a 14-play, 82-yard drive and a 37-yard Oliver-to-Harlem Cook touchdown pass.
				The Cougars converted two third downs on the way to a 12-yard touchdown pass to Connor Shamany with 47 seconds left in the half.
				After making a stop on downs to get the ball back at its 40 with 18 seconds left, Hazleton Area used 24- and 31-yard passes to set up Luke Russo&rsquo;s 23-yard field goal on the last play of the half to close within 34-17.
				Hazleton Area got the ball to start the second half, but Finnegan McCormack&rsquo;s interception led to Oliver&rsquo;s 25-yard touchdown pass to Cook for a 41-17 lead.
				Cusatis, who had more than 100 receiving yards, made his second and third touchdown catches, from 1 yard out with 55 seconds left in the third quarter and 15 yards with 10 seconds left in the game.
				Paulie Weinrich scored the last Delaware Valley touchdown on a 44-yard screen pass with 2:51 left.
				Delaware Valley will move into the state tournament to play District 6 champion Altoona, which defeated District 4 champion Williamsport 29-14 Friday night.
