H.S. Football: Wilkes-Barre Area returns to field, defeats Tunkhannock

The Wyoming Valley Conference is guaranteed two District 2 champions in girls soccer and will have a shot at winning three.
				The top two seeds in both the Class 3A and Class 2A brackets will meet for the title on Saturday when Holy Redeemer hosts Lake-Lehman at 1 p.m. for the 2A crown and Dallas hosts Berwick for the 3A championship at 3 p.m.
				Hazleton Area, meanwhile advanced to the Class 4A finals at Williamsport at 1 p.m. Saturday.
				The boys soccer championships will open today with Wyoming Seminary hosting Wyoming Area at 6:30 p.m. in Class 2A. On Saturday, the Class 3A finals will feature Valley View at Crestwood at 6 p.m.
				CLASS 2A SEMIFINALS
				Lake-Lehman 2, Wyoming Area 0
				Scoreless at halftime, Keera Naugle struck for the Black Knights 10 minutes into the second half for the game-winner.
				Lake-Lehman got some insurance with an own goal with 8:22 remaining that was credited to Autumn Palka.
				The Knights&rsquo; Emma Stroud and the Warriors Olivia Allen each finished with four saves.
				Holy Redeemer 5, Western Wayne 1
				A 1-0 lead for the Royals was busted open in the second half as Janessa Ferro scored the eventual game winner eight minutes after the break and Bella Granteed made it 3-0 less than two minutes later.
				Western Wayne pulled within 3-1 before Morgan Crake answered for Redeemer and Ferro closed out the scoring with her second goal of the game. Kaylee Quaglia opened the game with the first goal.
				CLASS 3A SEMIFINALS
				Dallas 4, Scranton Prep 0
				Megan MacNeely was all over the scoresheet again on Thursday for the Mountaineers, finishing with two goals and assisting on the opening score that proved to be the game-winner by Kira Pomrinke.
				Elizabeth Viglone added a goal for Dallas, which finished with a 24-5 edge in shots over the Classics.
				Morgan Solano came up with every save for the shutout.
				Berwick 4, Wallenpaupack 0
				The Bulldogs matched the Mounts with a 4-0 shutout win in the other semifinal.
				RaeAnna Andreas&rsquo; goal got things started midway through the first half and then Sarina DeFinnis and Kayla Fernandez each set each other up for a score to take control of the game before halftime.
				Katie Starr tacked on a second-half goal and also had an asssist. Emily Ouimet earned the shutout.
				CLASS 4A SEMIFINALS
				Hazleton Area 1, Wyoming Valley West 0
				Sara Balay scored on a header off a corner kick in the 49th minute to give the Cougars the only goal and a victory over the Spartans on the road.
				Valley West finished with an 11-3 edge in shots but couldn&rsquo;t put one past Cougars keeper Caitlyn Katchur. Mackenzie Bowling had three saves for the Spartans.
				It was the second straight playoff road win for Hazleton Area, which edged Wilkes-Barre Area 3-2 in the quarterfinals.
				Williamsport blanked Delaware Valley on the road in the other semifinal on Thursday.
