OLD FORGE &#8212; Old Forge graduate Kyle McMyne was named Southern League Relief Pitcher of the Month for his performance with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.McMyne pitched in a league-high 13 games during May and struck out 10 while posting an 0.63 earned run average in 14 1/3 innings for the month.A fourth-round draft pick by the parent Cincinnati Reds out of Villanova in 2011, McMyne entered June on a scoreless streak of 11 2/3 innings. The streak lowered his ERA to 0.76 through 23 2/3 innings, the best among any reliever in the Class AA league with at least 10 innings pitched.A 25-year-old right-hander, McMyne is 1-0 with five saves, all of which came in May. He has struck out 14 while walking seven and allowing 20 hits.In his seventh season as a pro, McMyne is pitching above Class A for just the second time in his career. He had a 5.91 ERA in seven games with Pensacola last year.For his career, McMyne is 14-12 with 22 saves and a 5.13 ERA in 178 games, all but one of them in relief. He has 201 strikeouts in 242 1/3 innings.
