Last storm the worst in 20 years, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 PP&amp;L says &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Last week's snow and wind were part of the worst storm in 20 years, leaving &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 160,000 Pennsylvania Power and Light Co. (PP&amp;L) customers without power on &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Thursday and Friday, the company said"We don't keep detailed weather
records, but this is the worst storm we can remember since Hurricane Agnes in
1972," said Daniel Gallagher, PP&amp;L's manager of Distribution. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The hardest hit areas included Lancaster County where 30,000 people were
left without power and Schuylkill County, where 11,000 people were left
without power. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Luzerne County had 24,757 PP&amp;L customers without electricity over the
two-day period but the county was not hit as hard as Schuylkill County because
power was restored more quickly in the Luzerne County area, said Martha
Herron, the Hazleton area PP&amp;L manager. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 According to Herron, about 2,928 people in the Wilkes-Barre area suffered
some power loss and 1,200 people in the Greater Hazleton Area were without
power on Thursday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In Lackawanna County 14,932 PP&amp;L customers lost electricity between
Thursday and Friday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Over the weekend PP&amp;L had more than 1,800 employees working on restoring
power and responding to 1,500 locations to make repairs. Customers in PP&amp;L's
29-county service area had all power restored by Sunday morning, according to
Gallagher. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 PP&amp;L provides electric service to nearly 1.2 million customers in central
and eastern Pennsylvania.
