America is not taking care of its own &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I begin by saying that I am not on welfare. I am retired from the military.
I &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; spent 21 years defending this country, including two years as a combat
veteran in VietnamWhen I retired, I moved back to Pennsylvania where I was
raised. I went to school and studied for a career in the medical field. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 After graduation, I applied to hospitals from Key West, Fla., to
Bridgeport, Conn., for a job. I wrote, called, and traveled to all of these
states. All I got in response to my applications was "there are no openings"
or "you do not have enough experience." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I cannot believe that no hospital in the United States has an opening. I
have been looking for two years now. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The hospitals I have visited or called employ refugees. Why is this? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Even though I fought and was willing to give my life for this country, why
am I the one who is expected to suffer? Why are those from foreign countries
seen as more important. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 President Bill Clinton, you had better get your priorities in order and
take care of your own first. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In closing, I want to ask all those high-class, overpaid hotshots who think
they are special to remember that if somebody did not give them the chance, do
they think they would be in the position to deny others an opportunity to
prove themselves? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
