Andrew Matey &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Feb. 13, 1996 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Andrew ``Andy'' Matey of Center Street, Upper Askam, Wilkes-Barre, died &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-BarreBorn in the Hanover section of
Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Durkay Matey. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He attended Nanticoke schools and lived in Upper Askam since 1944. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Holy
Family Church of Sugar Notch; the American Legion Post 350 of Nanticoke; Askam
No. 6 Fire Department, Hanover Township; Paternal Order of Eagles; 400 Club of
Nanticoke; Citizens Club of the Hanover section of Nanticoke. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was last employed by Standard Coach of Nanticoke. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He and his wife, the former Stella Pawlikowski, celebrated their 51st
wedding anniversary in November 1995. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving in addition to his wife, are his brother, John, and a sister, Ann
Golemb, both of Nanticoke; several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Holy Family Church of Sugar Notch at
the convenience of the family. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Nanticoke. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Members of the American Legion Post 350 of Nanticoke will hold military
services at St. Joseph's Cemetery. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral arrangements are by Thomas E. Buczkowski Funeral Home, 210 Pine
St., Hanover section of Nanticoke. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
