AARP slates refresher course for mature drivers &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Charles T. Adams Senior Center, 5 East Market St., Wilkes-Barre, has
joined with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) to offer a &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 55-Alive/Mature driving course. The 8-hour classroom refresher course is
taught to help drivers age 55 years and older improve their skills and prevent
accidentsThe first session will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.. There is
an $8 fee for the two-day course, and is due at the time of the first session.
Participants are asked to bring their driver's license, and upon completion of
the course may be entitled to discount on their automobile insurance. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 To register, call 825-3484 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through
Friday. Class size is limited. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Plains' Seniors plan a variety of activities &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Plains Senior Citizens will gather at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Plains
American Legion Joseph E. Conlon Post #558 located at 101 East Carey St.,
Plains. President Edith Cardoni will preside. The Board meeting begins at
noon. Dues will be collected. New members are welcome. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hostess will be Alice Katsock, Charlotte Kwasnick, John Litinski, Nellie
Mattey an Charlotte Macaravage. Upcoming events such as the April 17
Interfaith service, and 20th anniversary celebration scheduled May 19. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Upcoming trips include King Henry at Mountain Laurel, April 16; Three
Little Bakers to see "Fiddler on the Roof," May 30; "Spirit of Philadelphia,"
June 20 and Wildwood N.J., Sept. 22-26. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
