Special thanks to my hometown supporters &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I really have a lot of people to thank for helping me over the past year in
my quest to make the Olympics. Those are the people back home in Mountaintop
and in the Wyoming Valley who have backed me every step of the wayI can't say
enough about how much their support has meant to me. The moral support has
been fantastic, and the financial support is above and beyond. It has all been
unbelievable. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; One thing that sticks out is the good luck wish I received from students at
the Fairview Elementary school. I spoke there, and all the kids sent me a big
card. I loved it. It's hard to put into words how much things like that mean
to me. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There were some rough times for me in the year I've spent down here in
Atlanta leading up to the Olympics. But whenever I started to have a negative
thought or bad feeling, I'd try to get it out of my head by focusing on
something positive. Many times, I could do that by thinking about a card or a
letter or a good-luck wish that I received. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In terms of financial support, I really have to thank the people at the
Mountaintop Eagle, our weekly newspaper in Mountaintop. They've run a
promotion in each issue asking people to support me financially on the road to
the Olympics. The Eagle and all the people who have sent contributions have
helped tremendously. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 So many people have touched me and have been a positive influence in my
life. That includes all the people back home who have sent me cards and
letters. When I go out there on the field, I know that I am representing them,
and I'm trying to represent them in the best way I possibly can. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
