 PG ENERGY SUING MURRAY REALTY: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; PG Energy has sued Thomas Murray of Murray Realty and Rental, seeking
payment of unpaid gas bills at three Wilkes-Barre propertiesThe lawsuit, filed
Tuesday in the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas, seeks $61,114.90 plus
interest and court costs. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Murray is owner of a real-estate company at 12 E. Ross St. and the
developer of the Murray Complex on South Pennsylvania Avenue. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The largest bill is $49,257.99 for property at 70 Hazle St. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Murray could not be reached Wednesday for comment. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 CON ED GETTING NEW POWER CONTRACT: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Continental Energy Associates Limited Partnership said Wednesday that CEA
has agreed to amend the power purchase contract it has with Consolidated
Edison Company of New York. Con Edison no longer will be required to make
monthly payments for the purchase of electric energy from CEA's Hazleton
140-megawatt cogeneration plant. The market cost for electricity is less than
the price Con Edison pays CEA. As a result, Con Edison's payments will end
January 1997 at the latest, under the amended contract. The Hazleton plant
employs 38 people and is operated by Operational Energy Corporation under
contract with United American Energy Hazleton Corporation. UAE Hazleton Corp.
came in to manage the plant at the request of investors while CAE underwent
Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. UAE Hazleton, an affiliate of United
American Energy Corporation of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., negotiated the amendment
to the power purchase contract. "This is a win-win result," said Stephen
Strait, UAE Hazleton's vice president. "This restructuring with Con Edison
gives Continental the flexibility to market the cogeneration plant output to
other customers." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 CEA continues to sell 100 megawatts of electricity to Pennsylvania Power &amp;
Light Co. Both parties agreed to terminate their power purchase earlier this
year. That agreement is awaiting approval from Continental's creditors and the
Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 PROCTER &amp; GAMBLE SETS OPEN HOUSE: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Procter &amp; Gamble's paper products plant near Mehoopany will hold an open
house Aug. 14 and 15 to mark its 30th anniversary of operation in Northeastern
Pennsylvania. The tours, which run from 1 to 8 p.m. daily, are self-guided and
no tickets or reservations are required. "We would not be so successful
without the support of our communities, so we want all our neighbors to visit,
to get to know us better and to see what you've helped to create," said Joe
DeMarco, public relations manager for the plant. The plant is P&amp;G's largest
and has more than 2,500 employees with an annual payroll of approximately $100
million. P&amp;G brands Pampers and Luvs diapers, Bounty paper towels and Charmin
bathroom tissue are manufactured at the plant located on Route 87 in
Washington Township, Wyoming County. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
