hosted a celebration for the more than 70 volunteers involved in the success
of the University's Annual Fund Drive. This year's campaign, which raised a
total of $910,000, was chaired by Carl Postupak. The annual fund represents
about 30 percent of the more than $3,312,000 raised at Wilkes during the

 King's College's recently held their third annual JTPA Summer Youth
Academic Enrichment Campus (AEC) Program funded by the Luzerne County Human
Resources Development Department (LCHRDD), Job Training Partnership Act
(JTPA). The AEC participants assigned to King's learned to develop reasoning,
critical thinking and cooperative working skills. Pictured, from left, with

 The Cardiology Department of Geisinger Medical Group in Wilkes-Barre was
recently honored for the group's results in the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost
Containment Council's Focus on Heart Attack Study and the cardiologists' work
with clinical trials. The cardiologists were also recognized for their work
with the national Cholesterol and Recurrent Events (CARE) trial, the first
study to examine patients at risk for recurrent heart attack who do not have
high cholesterol and a clinical trial of a new clot busting drug to treat
