WILKES-BARRE -- A Mocanaqua man accused of shooting a man outside a Hunlock
Township bar in November pleaded not guilty Friday in Luzerne County Court of
Common Pleas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Terry Scott Warner, 40, of Hill Street, was charged with third-degree
murder and related charges after he allegedly shot Kevin Kunkle Elston, 31, of
Trucksville, Kingston Township, in the parking lot of Harry's Bar the night of
Nov. 11, 1996. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; According to court documents, Brian Luther Royer, who went to the bar with
Warner and Warner's wife, Joan Marie, to shoot pool, said Warner and Elston
had a brief conversation inside the bar before the shooting. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Warner then went outside to the parking lot and Elston followed him. Warner
told Elston to leave him alone and fired a pistol into the air, but Elston
continued to advance on Warner. Warner then shot Elston shortly before 8 p.m.,
according to the arrest affidavit. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 After the shooting, Warner re-entered the bar. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "Terry came back in and he said, `I shot him. I didn't have no choice. He
lunged at me,"' bar owner Thomas Harry said the day after the shooting. "The
guy just followed him outside too quick." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Warner unloaded the gun used in the shooting and put it on the hood of his
car, according to the affidavit. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Warner also removed two other guns from his car and threw them in two
different spots near the bar, Harry said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Elston was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, at 9:04 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In addition to the murder charge, Warner is charged with one count each of
voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter and recklessly endangering
another person; two counts of carrying a firearm without a license; three
counts of aggravated assault. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
